The first fertilizer designed for indoors

Drop one in.
Water as normal.
Watch it grow.

The first pre-measured organic fertilizer pod designed for indoor plants. Drop one in, water as normal. No synthetic salts, no plastic. 86 million American households own indoor plants, yet most fertilizers are just repackaged farm chemicals. BioPod's water-soluble paper shell guarantees even feeding with no scooping, no mixing, no burn risk, and zero plastic residue.

The problem

Why feeding indoor plants goes wrong

Talk to indoor plant owners and the same frustrations surface again and again. These are the barriers that keep people from feeding their plants well.

Fear of killing plants

The number one barrier to plant ownership is not light or watering. It is the fear of incorrect fertilizer application. Measuring cups, chemical ratios, and dosing caps create anxiety that keeps people from feeding their plants at all.

Products built for the wrong customer

The fertilizer industry was designed for commercial farms, lawns, and outdoor gardens. Indoor plant owners in apartments, dorm rooms, and offices are being served products that assume horticultural expertise they do not have.

Plastic and harsh chemicals

Bottles, bags, and resin-coated granules leave plastic in your soil and the landfill. Synthetic salt fertilizers are harsh chemicals most people would rather not keep around their home, kids, or pets.

One pod solves all three. Made from organic inputs, pre-measured, with a water-soluble shell that simply dissolves into the soil.

How it works

Three steps. No mess. No measuring.

Place a pod

Set one pre-measured BioPod at the base of your plant or just below the soil. The dose is already calibrated. There is nothing to scoop, weigh, or dilute.

Water as normal

Water the way you always do. The cellulose shell dissolves in 30 to 90 seconds on contact with water and carries a balanced nutrient blend straight to the root zone.

Nutrients release gradually as the pod breaks down over 8 to 10 weeks, feeding both your plant and the living soil around it. No residue, no leftover plastic, nothing to remove.

Why BioPod

Everything good plant food should be

Zero burn risk at any dose

Even if you accidentally place two pods in one pot, the organic formulation makes chemical burn impossible. This directly addresses the number one fear plant owners told us about, killing their plants through incorrect application.

Truly designed for indoors

No measuring cups, no dusty bags, no mixing in watering cans. BioPod was built for apartments, dorm rooms, offices, and small spaces where traditional fertilizer products are impractical, messy, or intimidating.

Organic inputs, not synthetic salts

A blend of plant-derived and ocean-derived nutrients with beneficial soil microbes. No synthetic salts that risk root burn or build up as salt crust in your soil.

Pet and kid safe

No harsh synthetic chemicals to worry about when little hands and paws are in the garden. The organic formulation and cellulose shell are non-toxic and safe for all plant species, soil microbes, pets, and children.

One pod, one full feeding

Each pod is precisely dosed for one plant. No more guessing whether you added too much or too little. A 12-pack is twelve feedings, about a dollar each.

Feeds the soil, not just the plant

Beneficial microbes build healthier, more resilient soil over time. This is a soil-health system, not just a quick green-up. The difference shows in months, not days, and it compounds.

Inside the pod

A water-soluble shell and a living nutrient blend

BioPod starts with a cellulose shell made from FSC-sourced wood pulp fibers. It is the same plant fiber family as paper, fully biodegradable, non-toxic, and it dissolves in soil within 30 to 90 seconds when watered, leaving zero residue.

Inside the shell is a balanced blend built on four natural pillars:

  • Plant proteins for slow-release nitrogen and steady, gentle growth
  • Sea kelp for trace minerals, natural growth compounds, and over 60 micronutrients
  • Mineral potassium for strong roots, blooms, and visible greening
  • Beneficial soil microbes that colonize the root zone, suppress root disease, and build long-term soil health

Each pillar is individually backed by published, peer-reviewed scientific literature. The combination and the multi-compartment delivery architecture are what make BioPod structurally different from anything else on the shelf.

How we compare

No other product was designed for indoor plant owners

Every fertilizer on the shelf today was built for farms, lawns, and outdoor gardens, then marketed to indoor plant owners as an afterthought. Here is how BioPod compares with the common product categories available today.

Our mission

Small pod. Real intent.

BioPod was founded by an environmental scientist who believes plant care should be simple and clean: organic inputs, a dose you cannot get wrong, and not a scrap of plastic left behind. No measuring, no mess, no synthetic salts, no waste.

~9%
of all plastic ever made has been recycled

"I kept finding the same pattern: the convenient choice almost always carried a hidden trade-off. BioPod is my answer. Plant food that is simple, organic, and clean."

Good questions

BioPod, briefly

Place one pod at the base of your plant or just below the soil surface, then water as you normally would. The shell dissolves in 30 to 90 seconds and the nutrients release into the root zone over 8 to 10 weeks. A 12-pack is twelve feedings, about a dollar each.
Yes. BioPod is made entirely from organic, plant-derived and ocean-derived inputs. There are no synthetic chemicals, and the cellulose shell is non-toxic and fully biodegradable. It is safe for all plant species, soil organisms, pets, and children.
No. Even placing two pods in one pot will not cause chemical burn. The organic formulation and natural buffering make overdose impossible. This is the core design principle, a fertilizer you cannot get wrong.
The shell is made from FSC-sourced wood pulp cellulose, the same fiber family as paper. It dissolves in soil within 30 to 90 seconds when watered, biodegrades fully, and leaves zero residue. No plastic, no microplastics.
